Step-by-Step Guide
Note: We start with a list of manufacturers and their respective product safety regulations. Please note that we are presenting an ideal case here: The list is only possible if it concerns one specific type of product (e.g., only headphones) from one specific manufacturer. Otherwise, another attribute may need to be chosen for identification.
1. Load Products
First, click on "Load Products." Don't worry, your spreadsheet with the data won't disappear; it will just be pushed to the back.
2. Create own view
Now you can see all your product data. For better clarity, you can create your own view (hide unimportant columns, etc.).[Learn how to create your own view here in this course.]
3. Apply the XLOOKUP formula in the GPSR column
- Go to the first row of the GPSR column and enter =xlookup.
- Double-click on the blue-highlighted xlookup to select the formula.
- Now you can see that the formula has been selected. Then click on the function bar fx.
Then the window with the function parameters for the XLOOKUP opens, where the search criteria, search matrix, and return matrix must be filled in.
- The search criterion here is the manufacturer, so the attribute is manufacturer. Click on the first line "FusionCobby".
- For the search matrix, we switch to the "GPSR by Manufacturer" worksheet and select column A by clicking on the A.
- For the return matrix, we switch back to the "GPSR by Manufacturer" spreadsheet and this time select column B - where the text for the GPSR is, in order to incorporate it into the product.
- Finally, click OK in the function parameter window to confirm your selection.
4. Apply the formula to the remaining fields
You can now see that the corresponding information has been pulled. Apply the formula by clicking the green square in the bottom right for the remaining fields or drag it down.
5. Save changes
After all the lines have been filled in, click on "Save Products." You can tell from the yellow job log that the changes are currently being processed. The job is complete, as you can see from the green job log and the green status of the products. The changes are now online.
If you want to make any changes to the text, click the "Html Editor" button in the bottom right corner of the cobby Task Pane, which appears when you click on the line of the product safety regulation.
With the HTML editor, you can easily adjust the text without having to work directly in HTML.
[Learn more about the Html editor here in the linked article.]
Excellent! 🎉
